eAuthor Spotlight: Patti Roberts

Categories: eAuthor Spotlight, patti roberts

It was a bright sunny morning when I met Patti. Or was it evening? I’m not sure, but it was surely Twitter time.
I hadn’t done a review per request until I met her, and I was all nervous about how it would go. I was very lucky to start my reviewing with Patti Robert’s lovely e-book, and I decided the Spotlight series should feature her first, after all we never do forget our firsts, do we? Aside being a great writer, she’s also incredibly sweet and kind. What better way to start if not with such an author?

Interview:
If you were to describe your e-book/book in only one word, what would it be?
Emotion

What would you say inspired you to write each of your e-books/books?
Life, emotion, love, death, looking for answers.

Have you ever been hit by the infamous “writer’s block”? What did you do to escape it?
When I tried to write a children’s book years ago. It didn’t inspire me and writers block set in so I figured I wasn’t on the right path physically or mentally.

What made you decide to go the e-way (e-publishing)?
Impatience and the thought of waiting for someone else to decide when it was time to release my book didn’t thrill me.

What would you say your all time favorite book is?
One of my all time favorites was Kane & Able by Jeffery Archer.

What made you pick that one over all others?
The journey that the writer weaved drew me in all the way. I love sagas.

What’s the longest time you’ve spent working on a project?
Paradox book 1 took me 2 years to complete.

Would you say becoming a writer has changed you? In what way?
I am certainly more at peace and content. Writing is like therapy to me.

Was there ever a time, during your work for the e-book/book, when you felt like giving up? What made you change your mind?
I have never felt like giving up. Writing Paradox is what inspires me to get up each morning.

What do you have stored for us in the future? What are you working on/planning on working on?
Paradox book 2 and 3, maybe 4.

B-o-M note: She is currently working on Book 2 in the Paradox Series due out in November, “Progeny Of Inocence”; here is a sneak peak of the cover.

If you could turn back in time and do things differently, would you? What would you change?
I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m doing exactly what I am meant to be doing.

What was the source of inspiration for your protagonist?
The child in all of us that is forever learning, forever searching for happiness, love and answers.

What can we expect from the next e-books/books in the series?
Some Kick arse characters worthy of love and hate – equally.

Any long term future plans? Care to share?
To keep writing…

What does your day-to-day life consist of? What else do you do, aside writing?
What else is there??? Just the basic everyday stuff that you have to do until you can get back to writing.

If you could wish for any one thing, and it would immediately come true, what would you wish for?
A bestseller and a movie deal! That would totally rock!

How do you deal with bad reviews or acid criticism? What would you advice “novice” writers to that effect?
Everyone has different tastes in everything in life, that includes books. I respect peoples individual opinions. And…. If 2 million people hated your book… It only takes 1 million to love it to be considered a success!

Fun facts:
If you were stranded on an isolated island, what’s the one book you’d absolutely wish to have with you?
“How to survive on a desert island”

Name your favorite fruit.
Plums

Would you sell your soul to become a world-wide bestseller?
No, without a soul a bestseller would be just be a stack of worthless pages.

Coffee or tea?
Both

Favorite time of the year?
Now. (B-o-M note: No way, summer? Not my fav time of the year, that’s for sure…)

How about fav time of 24 hours?
3am

Were you a boyscout/girlscout?
No, too many rules.

Favorite food for breakfast?
Pancakes.

Latest book you’ve bought and read?
Game of Thrones.

Do you have a passion for shoes? How about clothes?
Yeah I used to. Not too much now though. They used to define who I thought I wanted to be.

Favorite color, you know you want to tell us
Black.

Drama or comedy?
Thriller & action more so.

Have a fav quote or personal motto?
1. You meet people for a reason, a season or a life time. (B-o-M: I love this one!!!)
2. Every cloud has a silver lining.
3. It isn’t about how many times you fall down but how many times you get back up.

Cats or dogs?
Cats.

Dinner by candlelight or a night out clubbing?
Used to be clubbing, now dinner hands down.
