So, you’re thinking about the Sandman that sprinkles sparkly sand over your eyes to bring you sleep and great dreams right? Will this is reverse-Sandman, he’s bringing you horror and it’s final. I thought that twist of the idea was really awesome. The serial killer was horrible, not as a character but as a person, but the idea was awesome.
One of the things that I really loved about this book is that I had no clue who the killer would turn out to be. I tend to ‘sniff’ the killer out something like 9 times out of 10, I’m a fan of crime-documentaries and cases-solving TV shows, so I sort of have a nose for the guilty party, lol. Here? I had NO clue whatsoever. I can’t begin to tell you how I was quivering and jumping while reading about Meagan and how freaking terrified I was for her. A total rush!
Plus, I really liked J.J., I have a thing for cops, detectives, soldiers…*day-dreams* What, where was I? xD So, J.J. was awesome. I just loved him, he was so sweet and yet to intense and protective, yummy. I’m totally into alpha characters, and he was a treat. Plus I felt he had a totally awesome chemistry with Meagan, greatly due to her complete kickass-ness. She was funny, witty, totally hilarious in places, sort of vulnerable but independent, and unpredictable. Loved her, she brought J.J.’s character to life just as much as he brought her to life. They complimented each other really well in my opinion.
The writing was also something I really liked, it was really alive, it paused enough on the horror to make your heart speed and your hurt but not long enough to totally freak you out, and it had the same very good perspective on the romantic angle.
If you like crime thrillers, are into detective stories and bubbly characters, this is an awesome read. I loved reading it, and I’m looking forward to reading more by the same author.
