I Loved You First

By Reena Jacobs
Editions: ebook, paperback
Published July 29th 2011 by Reena Jacobs
Genre: YA

Alexandria (Alex) Carmichael guards two secrets close to her heart. One―she’s in love with her best friend, Seth. Two―he’s gay.
As a freshman in college, Alex looks forward to fun times with her best friend. When Seth decides cycling through girlfriends is the way to fit in with the straight crowd, Alex must make a choice: watch Seth give his affection to another while her heart breaks or come clean with her feelings and risk losing his friendship forever.
I LOVED YOU FIRST is a new adult love story told through the eyes of Alex, an African-American/Caucasian student, who takes a journey of self-discovery while watching her best friend come to terms with his sexuality.

I think being friends with someone of the opposite sex is a good idea, as it gives you an insight into the general perspective of others. As a girl, being friends with boys, for me, is cool. I mean, there’s no drama, no tears. Just be friends, have a good time together and help the guys with girl issues! 😉

Be friends with the oposite sex is the best thing ever! My best friend is a boy and he is the best thing ever happened to me! So I think I’m the live proof that friendship between men and women really exist!

After high school, I joined the army. Since the military is rather guy heavy, most of my friends ended up being guys. I loved it. It was the most secure moments of my life.

I had guy friends growing up and into college, but after I was dating seriously and married my husband became my best friend.  For me, the others were never ‘best’ friends so our relationships adjusted naturally as we all began starting our careers and our own families.  So, I’m not sure what to say on the topic.

I think, well I KNOW, I’m going to read this book. I am going to relate to this in a really sad way.

Best friend of the opposite sex is a good idea, because you always need opinion of the opposite sex that you can get from asking the same sex you are.

Why not? Sometimes I get so fed up of girls’ crap. Guys may not hash it out like girls, but sometimes they’re better listeners. IThat’s my opinion 🙂

I think that being friends with someone of the opposite sex is a good idea. If your a girl, and having problems with another girl in your group, it’s easier and less drama to talk to a guy. Plus you can see a different perspective, and have more imformation and advice to work with:)

Sarikapatkotwar, you make me think of my younger days. Having the mail perspective often kept me from making stupid mistakes because of my inability to understand the male mind. 🙂 For me, my dad was my go-to guy. I’m so thankful for his early advice.
