  • In episode two of The Flesh Cartel, the dark purpose behind Mat and Dougie Carmichael’s abduction is revealed. Though Dougie is protected from the worst of the guards’ brutality, he’s disgusted to find himself halfway to broken—despairing of escape and terrified of pain. Mat holds onto hope despite repeated rapes and beatings, but threats toward his brother teach him well to lay aside his pride and pick his battles carefully.
Worn down by days of unrelenting fear and abuse, Mat and Dougie are packaged and marketed with the same ruthless efficiency as any consumer product: Dougie the prettyboy twink, Mat the rabid pit bull. They are led to the auction block as the showpiece of the house’s collection.
Mat would rather be beaten to death than play the role of obedient slave for sale, but Dougie, desperate not to be separated from his brother, strikes a deal with the pitiless Madame who runs the auction house and controls both their fates. It might just be enough to keep them together—slaves, but together—assuming Mat even wants to be after Dougie fulfills his end of his deal with the devil.

(Publisher’s note: This title contains material some may find objectionable or trigger-inducing, including explicit violence, non-consent, and forced incest.)

  • Bomy’s Flutter: You don’t hear me say this often, or maybe you never did until now so take it to heart: this is not for the faint of heart.

  • It’s no mystery to you by now, I do like power play. I love it in fact, it’s the most believable sort of relationship to me. Now in the power play zone, there are themes and themes. Master/pet for instance is one of my favorites, it comes in the master/slave variety and within it you’ll find lots of different scenarios. The tamer ones, let’s say, involve both subjects willing and aware of what they’re entering into, you’ll find the rarer dub-con (dubious-consent) or lighter non-con (non-consensual) that turn into consensual somewhere along the line, and you’ll find the non-con that stays that way through and through – but even here there’ll always be degrees of intensity.
For me it’s very rare that I read a master/pet or master/slave scenario and actually get the chills, for instance. I actually remember just two particular fics that truly gave me the chills and had me sweating and sort of shaking as I read them without leaving me any sensual connotations. Those would be what Christian Grey would have written down in the contract as my hard limits, I guess.

This read gave me the chills without any sensual connotation. Maybe it was the incest theme – never was a fan of that in any measure -, or the real violence and abuse, surely the multiple players thing – doesn’t do a thing for me -, undoubtedly it was the authors talent to make those scenes really come alive for me as I read, but all of it combined gave me the freaking chills, in a shuddering sort of way. I didn’t freak out since I’ve read this kind of scenario before numerous times, but it gave me the freaking chills. So if we’re thinking about the thriller/horror zone, this was a graphic masterpiece. For me, as far as erotica would go, it didn’t even go near that zone, the overall went beyond my so-called hard limits.

Though this is a short read, it packs a lot, and I mean a lot of punch. It’s bound to leave you with a distinctly lasting impression, and depending on your own limits, it can either freak the hell out of you or just disturb you, or it could be just what the doctor ordered. But in this case the publisher’s warnings aren’t gratuitous or come-ons that won’t lead to real fruition. This is, in my opinion, intense.

I suspect Dougie and Mat are going to go through a helluva lot more in the next installments, and I’ll confess to being incredibly curious about both of their futures especially since they’re on to a different sort of experience from here on. I suspect that in the next installments, when I’ll read them, I will find a lot of sensual material if they’ll get masters/owners or have just the one playmate, regardless if he’s going to pass them along to another later on. The one on one scenario can be fun for me, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

As it is now, this was written well enough to give me the chills, and just based on that it means there are some awesome skills at play here. But I’m still waiting for my fun from this series, and I want to keep reading despite or maybe especially because of the chills I got so far.

If you’re interested in this kind of reading, I say give this a try, it certainly is one of the reads I’ll remember.
