The Fictional Characters I’m inviting to my Ultimate Halloween Party

    by Paula Millhouse

We all have our favorites. Here’s a sneek-peek of who’s on my Halloween Party invitation list this year, and why:

    1. Edward Cullen, cuz you know, he just makes vampires look sexy.
    2. Andre Maras, the lead vampire from Amber Belldene’s novel Blood Vine. I figure Andre and Zoey Porter would be fun at a party, especially if they were pouring the wine.
    3. Beast, from Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, because he’s just so much fun to look at. Besides, we’ll need a bouncer, right?
    4. Tony Stark, from Iron Man. Who doesn’t want to attend a party where Tony’s flash and dazzle will light up the venue?
    5. OK, ALL the Avengers! Bound to make for interesting party conversation.
    6. The current Dr. Who, because I love his English accent and he can stage the Tardis outside for time-travel fun rides.
    7. Chewbacca. He can bounce with the Beast just in case the vampires and the Avengers take issue with the party favors.
    8. Hiccup and Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon. I’ll have them staged next to Dr. Who and the Tardis for party-goers who want to stay in this realm and take a dragon ride.
    9. Jarrid, and The Eternal Order from Tricia Skinner’s novel Angel Bait – you never know when you’re gonna need half-angel assassins to back up the bouncers. This is an eclectic group, and thing might get out of hand!
    10. And last but definitely not least, Michael McKnight and Abigail O’Malley from my short story Three Wishes, the guests of honor. Word on the street is they’ve got a fairy dance troupe following them around that’s bound to please the Halloween crowds. Dancing is a must at my outrageous party.

How about you? Any favorite fantasy characters on your list for your Ultimate Halloween party?

      Hey Livia!

Thanks for hosting me today. What a wonderful spotlight for THREE WISHES.

Halloween’s only five months away, you know, and getting this invitation list together is high priority.

      Who would you invite?

      1. Livia @ Butterfly-o-Meter Books

Hey. It’s a pleasure to have you over!

Hmm… I think I’d invite Dr. Hannibal Lecter, Dexter, Dr. Gregory House, Alan Shore, Queen Elisabeth I, Dracula, Eric Northman, Akasha the vampire queen, Dr. Spencer Reid aaaaand Loki. I’m evil, huh? Haha.

I’d sure remember that Halloween for a loooong time 😀

    2. Bonnie Gill

      Hi Paula,
I loved you Three Wishes story.
This is such a great post. You have a lot of great people on your list. I think I would have Tony Stark as number 1. Lol.
I think Captian Sparrow would be fun to have there also. Yes, all the Avengers! Both the Winchester boys from Supernatural, not only because they’re hot, but because you never know when a ghost my crash the party. Then I would invite Egar Allen Poe, because everyone needs an emo at the party. For a Vampire, it would have to be Eric on true blood. Don’t forget Alcide the werewolf. And last but not least, I would invite Spartacus, Crixis, and Gannicus from the show Spartacus. Just because they can spar for entertainment, and who wouldn’t want to look at a bunch of oiled, hot half naked men with big swords.
      Thanks Paula.

    3. Susan Mac Nicol

      Hi Paula
I think I’d have to invite the wonderful Stephen King to my party, along with my favourite characters of his. IT, (the creepy clown)a Tommyknocker and the uber devilish Randall Flagg from The Stand. I think no Halloween party would be complete without them. But I think Bonnie definitely has the right idea too when she talks about half naked, hot, oiled men. A few of them would go down a treat. Please let me know when this party takes place. I’d LOVE to be there.

    4. Allie K. Adams

      Hi Paula,

GREAT post! I’d also invite the X-men to party with the Avengers. After all, they are both Marvel Universe so it’s time they meet. I’m really into my YA web comic right now so I’d also have to invite Amethyst (my heroine) and yes, even Onyx (my bad bad guy). Amethyst would be BFF’s with Black Widow and Storm. Since Loki is already invited, I think he and Onyx would be off in the corner devising some evil plan to take over the party. 🙂

    5. Paula Millhouse

Bonnie, Susan, and Allie – I think we’re gonna have to expand the venue!!

Great ideas, everyone. Keep your eyes on your mailbox for your official invitation.

    6. Paula Millhouse

      Oh, heavens, Jami!

What a fantastic idea! The Seattle Lumberjacks are certain to liven up the atmosphere, and who doesn’t love a spontaneous friendly game of touch breaking out?

I’ll add them to the list 🙂

    7. Tricia Skinner

I would invite everyone suggested in the guest post AND the comments. OMG, can you girls imagine a party with Dexter and Hannibal Lecter?! And NO ONE invited LOKI! WTH!?

    8. Paula Millhouse

OK, people – rocking and rolling here with the guest list.

Yes to Tricia on Loki, Dexter, & Hannibal.

Livia, Prince Nuada can come, but I gotta have Hellboy too.

Beverly, we’ll find room for the Despicable Me cast too.

Just got my first RSVP on Twitter, people – Andre Maras says it’s a go. Hope they’re planning to serve Blood Vine. I’m just sayin…

    9. Samantha MacDouglas

Fun post! I would invite Kate Daniel and Curran the Beast Lord and Guerrero (from Human Target). Then, I’d make sure someone was filming it all and I’d watch from a distance… This is going to be quite some party.

      1. Paula Millhouse

Ohhh, yes, EW! We must have some Van Helsing action at this gig, just in case some of these critters get out of line.

My Fairy Dance Troupe promises lots of fun!

        Thanks for checking in!

    10. Jillian Leigh

I agree with Tricia–you can’t have the Avengers without Loki! And yes to Eric from True Blood. Yes, to any of the ‘men’ from True Blood.

And what about the title character from The Mummy? He wasn’t too bad on the eye. He could bring along that mysterious guy who led the secret band of protectors (clearly, I can’t remember the story all that well). And Brendan Fraser. Can’t forget Brendan.

      1. Paula Millhouse

        Thanks, Jillian!

You’re right – My list has grown and this idea of yours about the guys from the Mummy – gotta have Brendan – Stellar!

::Sighs:: Loki should make things very interesting indeed…

    11. Paula Millhouse

Thanks again for hosting Three Wishes at Butterfy-o-Meter Books. It looks like we have a stellar list for our fictional Halloween party. I’ll make sure the fairies from Three Wishes have their best dancing shoes in top-notch condition for the entertainment.
