Iron & Velvet (Kate Kane, Paranormal Investigator #1)
First rule in this line of business: don’t sleep with the client.
My name’s Kate Kane, and when an eight-hundred-year-old vampire prince came to me with a case, I should have told her no. But I’ve always been a sucker for a femme fatale.
It always goes the same way. You move too fast, you get in too deep, and before you know it, someone winds up dead. Last time it was my partner. This time it could be me. Yesterday a werewolf was murdered outside the Velvet, the night-time playground of one of the most powerful vampires in England. Now half the monsters in London are at each other’s throats, and the other half are trying to get in my pants. The Witch Queen will protect her own, the wolves are out for vengeance, and the vampires are out for, y’know, blood.
I’ve got a killer on the loose, a war on the horizon, and a scotch on the rocks. It’s going to be an interesting day.

Fluttering Thoughts:
Worldbuilding: Awesome paranormal world – vampires, werewovles, magic, the works. I loved how all the elements blended naturally.
Characters:Lemme begin by saying I loved Kate to death. She was charismatic, independent, tough, smart, had a killer sense of humor and she was adorable in that tough-chick kind of way. Kate’s personal life was a bit of a mess, but I love this type of character and she did have interesting taste in women 😀 Plus she had hot one on one, hehe.
I loved pretty much all the characters in the novel, they had different voices and were all fun. Julian was a riot, Nim was really awesome too, and the guys were cool. I will add I loved the fact we had all types of characters, genders, tastes – a lot of diversity, huge kudos on that.
Favorite Character: Kate 😀
Plot:Whole the romance tangent was fun, I really enjoyed the mystery. The story was well paced, highly entertaining and kept me fully engaged all through.
Writing:Awesome first person narrative
Curb Appeal: Cool cover, killer blurb – impulsive buy material for sure.
I’m really, really looking forward to reading the next one in the series, and I believe this a fantastic start to a series that might just make my favorites list real soon 🙂

Oooh, lesbian paranormal romance? Sounds like a fun read. 🙂 Is this erotica or romance?
I know, right? Sex scenes aren’t fade out or anything, but maybe there’s one of them, two max. That to me equals romance, I’d need like 50+% of a read to be sex-only to call it erotica, so in my opinion it’s Adult Paranormal Romance for sure 😀
And it was awesome, I loved the main character and the writing style, great dialogue 😀 Give it whirl if you’re in the mood for fun reading, I had a blast reading it!
