The Dark Kings have fought for centuries to preserve their dragon magic. But can one warrior resist the greatest temptation of all. . .?In Burning Desire: Part 1 by Donna Grant, Kiril is dark, dangerous and powerful and when he heads to Ireland to uncover Dark Fae secrets, he isn’t the least bit surprised that the Dark are using one of their own to spy on him in return. But he is deeply intrigued by this sexy, alluring woman who is perilous in more ways than one…Shara needs to be get back into her family’s good graces after committing an near-unforgivable offense and if bringing a Dragon King to his knees is how she must do it, she will use every trick she has up her sleeve to snare him. But she is unprepared for the intense desire that he brings to life within her. A burning desire they both seem unable to escape…
Worldbuilding: Though this is the first Dark Kings title I read, I loved the world of the series and got the gist of it real quick, much love. Dragons. Much, much love.
Characters: Kiril made a very charismatic entrance, and it may or may not have to do with the Scot charm going on. There’s this vibe of raw sexual power and danger about the man, he just immediately got my attention, the badass sort of good guy, you know? Pure. Win.
Share was interesting, especially because she comes in as this maybe iffy character, like is she or isn’t she gonna turn out to be an enemy? This dual nature, foe or friend, builds up a LOT of tension. Yum.
They had awesome chemistry, insta-lust kind, and I’m dying to see how it evolves. I very much approve of the hotness of their interaction. 😀
Plot: Keeping in mind this 1 of 4 parts, so it’s not tremendously long, it’s full of action, tension and there’s this suspense vibe going on about Shara’s side of the story. A lot of fun.
Writing: His and her POV, third person, past tense narrative. Loved both their voices.
Curb Appeal: Kickass cover, hooking blurb, plus dragons. Are you kidding me? Instant buy material.
All in all, this was a great start to a serial, and I will admit I’m showing all the more love since I don’t have to wait at all before reading the next ones 😀 But then again, neither will you guys, they’re coming out one a week. I don’t even think you have to postpone getting each, I mean I feel I could easily read each bit the week it comes out, and it would work out great. Of course, it works out better not to wait at all, like with all things 😀
