I’d never felt so vulnerable, at once both lost and found, as I now did sprawled across Savage in this foolish throne-chair. His strength was my solace, my comfort, and there was nothing better than hearing the beating of his heart beneath my ear.
Once trapped in a loveless, pleasure-less marriage, Evelyn Hard leaves her home in New York for the glittering ballrooms of London. However, when she arrives she meets the Earl of Savage, a dark, powerful man who seems to live up to his name, despite his noble trappings, a man who possesses her with just one look. Soon Evelyn finds herself pulled into Savage’s world—a world of passion unlike any she has ever experienced. Evelyn’s heart is captured with no hope of escape. But can they overcome the tortures of the past together?
Savage never imagined someone like Evelyn walking into his life. As soon as he sees her he knows he must have her, no matter the cost.
Worldbuilding: The awesome Edwardian London society was delightfully proper and playful, though I can’t say the world was extremely focused upon except the setting, mannerisms and such. But totally, totally fun nonetheless 😀
Characters: Eve was a riot, a rebel with a delightful sense of independence, yet vulnerable and emotionally available for the brooding Lord Savage. I really liked Eve, loved the way she reacted to things, her curiosity, her passion. She was a real lady, and one of who knew how to have fun 😀
Of course Lord Savage was smoldering hot, intense, quite dominant inside their Game, possessive, hungry, utterly delicious in his passion 😀
Their one on one was smoldering hot, they had amazing chemistry, and I dare say the fell for each quite hard, but Lord Savage might yet be a bit in denial about it. Therefore, on to book #2, when it comes out, to see how things evolve.
Plot: The story was fun, hot-romance-arc being the main one. It was a very tense sort of read from an emotional perspective, due to their chemistry and the way the relationship evolved.
Writing: First person, past tense narrative, Eve’s POV. Awesome voice.
Curb Appeal: Just look at that cover, don’t you wanna jump in that bed and just frolic about? xD Gorgeous cover, hooking blurb – total impulsive buy material.
All in all, I totally recommend this if you’re into erotic historical romance, Edwardian London or not, this is a totally fun, intense, captivating romance xD Rawr!
