    “Don’t Look Back in Anger”
In one night, I lost five years of my life. Here’s what I know …
    I was homeless.
    I’m a recovering drug addict.
My inked skin crawls from lustful eyes.
I have a serious aversion to women.
My gay partner is a home wrecker.
I own a gun and I’m a damn good shot.
I’m a makeup artist, but it’s an insult to my talent.
I’ve never wanted to possess anything except my Ducati … until I met Darby.
Now here’s what I know since that day in the ER when she pieced me back together … nothing—but a few random thoughts.
My new “friend” is distracting, clingy, and obsessed with acronyms, emojis, and phrases like “breakfast soul mates.”
I didn’t want to like her, but she crawled under my skin and swallowed me whole. Now we’re best friends and she’s my new addiction. I’d drink her from a shot glass, snort her up my nose, or inject her into my veins if I could. What I won’t do … is ever tell her that.
She doesn’t know me … I don’t know me. When those missing years come back, I think she will hate me … I think I will hate me.
My parents named me Patrick Roth, and this is my story.

    Review

I really enjoyed that novel! It was a little different story line than what I usually read but it was a wholly welcomed addition to my bookshelf! The characters were great. The situations were a little crazy but it’s a wild ride that is worth the ups and downs. 🙂
Darby has always been known as a doormat. She lets things roll off her back and goes with the flow. She has a hard time connecting with people and being a physician’s assistant doesn’t help much in the friend department. She thought it was going to be a normal day when she went in to stich up a “squirrel” aka hot guy. But she didn’t know that she was about to go down the rabbit hole and never want to resurface again! Darby was kind of an impulsive character, especially after she met Trick. Her inner dialogue though, had me freaking laughing my ass off for literally almost the whole story!! She was a little whiny at times but still ended up being a pretty cool character in my book.
Trick doesn’t remember his past. With the help of those closest to him, Tamsen and Grady, he has been able to carve out a life for himself but never one he can really live. Until he meets Darby. She throws his orderly world into a tailspin and he can’t help but get swept up in her hurricane. Trick was such a mystery for the entire book. You get bits and pieces every once in a while but you don’t get the whole story until the end of the novel. I really enjoyed his character though. He was a little bit different than what I was used to reading but I loved him with all his quirks and mystery all the same!
Trick and Darby’s romance was a whirlwind. It was very intense and deep. They did start off as friends but even with that little bit of distance in the beginning I still felt they had this insta love connection. They did impulsive things together that were a little crazy. But I think that’s what made their romance so enjoyable to read!!!
I only had a couple of issues with the novel. The first being that the chapters didn’t specify which point of view you were reading from. Sometimes I got confused that I was reading Darby’s point of view when it was really Trick’s. I eventually found out but it would’ve just been easier to have the povs specified. Although I really did like the way Trick’s pov was presented! It was different but a good different! The other issue I had was that I felt like Trick got away with a lot more stuff than Darby did. Things that weren’t really appropriate for people to be doing to him, he just shrugged it off like it was no big deal and would deal with Darby’s jealously by having sex with her and in my opinion to shut her up. I like my hero’s to not be around other women period so it was just kind of a pet peeve of mine.
All in all this novel really wowed me in terms of story lines! The mystery kept me completely entertained and that paired with the ridiculously hawt sex scenes kept me on the edge of my seat! If you are in the mood for a seriously sexy guy that is shrouded in mystery and who has so many different layers to him, I’d say come and find out why Only Trick is all you need!! 😉

I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
