Casey Markham is a man-eater in a rut. Swearing off relationships may keep her heart safe, but she’s beginning to question if her casual flings will ever leave her satisfied. She’s wondering if it’s finally time to let go of the past and stop letting history control her future.
Bad boy biker, Tenn Jennings can’t get Casey off his mind. A chance encounter with the beautiful blond has left its mark, and now he’s determined to prove her wrong about everything she thought she knew about men.
It’s safe to say… Casey Markham has met her match.
Worldbuilding: This story takes place on the island, Outer Banks of North Carolina. Its got the whole beach bum, fun in the sand vibe going on and I really liked it!
Characters: The main characters are Tenn and Casey. Casey is a girl that is protecting her heart by not settling down but having as much fun as she can! But as much fun man eating used to be, those actions have her in a rut that she can’t seem to get out of. Then in comes Tenn! Tenn is a bad ass biker who is trying to find out how he can live life and enjoy it too with his family obligations. Casey was a feisty heroine and Tenn ended up being the right kind of bad ass for her. I loved their relationship even though it was fast and heavy, they made it work!
Plot: There were quite a few story arcs with in this novel. One arc had to do with Casey’s past and the reason she is the way she is today. Another arc had to do with the romance aspect between Casey and Tenn. And then Tenn had two story arcs all to himself! One dealing with his past and one dealing with his future. Tenn and Casey tended to have an insta love sort of romance but it was able to have time to blossom and turn into something long lasting. And even thought this is the fifth book in the series, this is the only one I have read and I didn’t feel at a loss at all!
Writing: The story was told in dual points of view from Tenn and Casey. As well as first person points of view. It was very straight forward and easy to follow. And that was a nice reprieve for me since I didn’t have to stare at a sentence for ten minutes wondering what the author was trying to say!
Curb Appeal: The cover was damn sexy and definitely a big reason it drew me to the story! I checked out the rest of the books in the series and all of them are smoking hot as well! The blurb is right on the money and another reason why I wanted to read this book so bad! I love me some bad girls that take what they want but I also love my bad ass guys that can bring those women to heel in the most sweet and romantic ways!
Ultimately: This was a great book! I definitely think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the other books in the series, because I think Casey was one character everyone really wanted to have a happy ending for. All in all if you want a feisty man eater heroine and a bad ass biker that just won’t quit, come and find out why you need to be Shaken, Not Stirred!! 😉
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
