Secret Surrender (Forever #2)
“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”
I knew that giving in to Vincent Sorenson was a risk, but it was one I was willing to take. I had hidden my heart for so long and for the first time in a long time, Vincent was close to breaking down the walls.
When a trip to Vincent’s exclusive private island reveals the real Vincent underneath the layers of suave nonchalance, I thought we were close to the start of something special.
Just when things were looking up for us, I would discover the one secret that Vincent never intended for me to find.

Fluttering Thoughts:
Worldbuilding: This continuation of the Forever series was set in Manhattan again but did have a fun detour to the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia! I adore these cool trips to these tropical places because it’s a lot different from the normal day to day life of the heroine.
Characters: Vincent and Kristin are back again! Neither character, in my opinion, really grew in this story. If anything Vincent, took a few steps back somewhat, after some uncomfortable situations came to light. Although, Kristin I do have to give props to for not beating around the bush and actually talking to Vincent about what was bothering her on specific occasions. She didn’t just seat and stew about how she didn’t like things that were happening, she did something about it, and that is the kind of heroine I like to read!
Plot: I did really think everything was going pretty good for the main characters and then all of a sudden we get sneak attack drama!!! We get not one, but two crappy ex’s thrown into the mix and I wasn’t really expecting that. Also I really felt like Vincent and Kristen’s relationship almost entirely revolved around their sexual chemistry. I hope in the next part of this series they grow more as a couple spiritually and intellectually instead of just sexually.
Writing: This story is again told in the first person point of view of Kristen. And since this is an ongoing story it cannot be read as a standalone.
Curb Appeal: The cover, again, is pretty dang awesome! I love how all of the covers feature “the couple”. The blurb really does give you this story in a nutshell! It’s intriguing and gives you that little taste of drama to keep you on the edge of your seat!!
Ultimately: This story gave a better background on both, Kristin and Vincent’s past, and threw in some drama to shake things up!! I’m pretty much dying for the next story in this trilogy! I really want everything to work out okay. I hope that they find the happiness that they both deserve!!
