Before there was Cris, there was Hunter…
Eighteen-year-old India Burke has been waiting for as long as she can remember to escape her life of material feast and emotional famine. Going away to college offers separation from her noxious family and a connection with the best friend a girl could ask for.
While her peers are picking majors and navigating the pool of college dating, Reyes Walter introduces India to the intoxicating world of dominance and submission and to a man who will become utterly obsessed with her. Hunter Vaughn is older, handsome, and just the right kind of arrogant. And he’s never wanted anything as badly as he’s wanted to possess India.
As she comes into her own in these consuming relationships, where pain so often results in pleasure and submission is a gateway to freedom, it’s difficult to define sacrifice. But when Hunter issues a ruthless ultimatum, India will have to choose: give up half of herself or break free of the bondage and belonging she’s always craved.
** Please note: Uncharted Territory is a prequel to Personal Geography. This erotic coming-of-age has no happily ever after, but does offer compelling kink, scorchingly hot sex, and brutal psychological warfare.**
Man this was such an eye opening and much need glimpse into India’s past! This is the third book in the Compass series but is technically the prequel to Personal Geography. It is also a new adult tale that slides into adult erotica! It is told entirely from India’s point of view and what a different view it is!
India aka Kit is new to the scene. Always living a suffocated life and looking for something that quiets the ramblings of her own mind. In drops the fairy kink mother, Reyes Walter!! As Rey takes India under his wing and schools her in the fine art of domination and submission, she blossoms and shines under his guidance! Honestly I love India but hot damn do I have a major hard on for Rey!!!! He gave piece of mind and friendship and love to India when she needed it the most and never left her standing without a safety net. He was such an awesome person for India part of me wishes that he could have been the hero to her heroine!
India was such a different character in this story than in the previous ones I have read. I’m used to this kickass ballbuster but what I got was a girl that was in dire need of affection and unconditional love. I loved seeing this younger, softer side to her but it also made my heart ache for her. It was sad to see her so unsure of herself in regards to Hunter and their relationship. But I did love that this experience helped mold her into a kickass woman!
Hunter, Hunter, Hunter! Ugh that man would take one step forward with me and then take a dozen back!! Hunter wanted someone to solely depend on him. But unfortunately after going through six long years of a d/s relationship did he finally realize that India wasn’t going to solely depend on anyone. Especially not him after he pulled his crazy bullshit stunt. He was a hard Master to read. I wanted to find some type of softness to him but in the end he proved way too callous for me.
Ultimately this novel was fantastic! I knew it wasn’t going to end happily but I actually didn’t mind that. Honestly I really want to read more of India’s adventures with her Doms! And after reading this story it makes me want to read the series all over again. I can tell you this series just gets better and better and I don’t see it losing steam any time soon! I really, really hope the next book is about Rey but all I can do is cross my fingers and spam the author till I get me way!!! *winks* If you’re in the mood for a story that isn’t all that pretty but digs deep emotionally come and check out Uncharted Territory because I can tell you, you won’t regret it!
