    Fluttering Thoughts:

Worldbuilding: This story takes place in New Jersey, in a not so glamourous soup kitchen in the city. I liked that this was a more down to earth billionaire that wanted to help others than just himself!
Characters: The main characters in this story are Zackary and Kenna. Zackary is the son of the billionaire tycoon, Mr. Knight. His father believes that money can buy whatever you want but Zack knows life without money means the people around you like you for you and not what you can give them. Zack wants someone to love him for him and not his bank account. When Kenna shows up on his door step, he is intrigued but wary. As time goes on, his feelings grow but so do some of his suspicions. Can Kenna be the real deal or is the woman too good to be true? Kenna has always thought her only worth was equated to how well men liked her body. Even though she has tried and failed to reinvent herself, this new business deal is crossing a line she never thought she’d cross. When she gets to know Zack she realizes all her tricks and trades won’t work on the guy and the only thing that will, is her true self. As she falls deeper and deeper under Zack’s spell, can she keep all the secrets and lies out of their precious little bubble or will their love implode and wreak havoc on them both? I expected Kenna to be a very hard character but she was anything but. She wasn’t rude or heartless on the contrary, she had a heart and felt the guilt of deceiving him throughout their relationship.
Plot: I wasn’t completely in love with the story because it was hard to connect with the characters sometimes. It definitely wasn’t your typical billionaire romance story so that take on things was interesting! Kenna was introduced in the Zack’s life, not by fate but by manipulation. Zack’s father orchestrated them spending their time with each other, but it is fate that kept them together.
Writing: This story is told in first person points of view of both Zackary and Kenna as well as dual points of view. The dual points of view aspect was completely different than I am used to. In the first half of the story Zack’s point of view was short and Kenna’s point of view was the majority of the story. Then towards the second half of the novel Kenna’s point of view was short and Zack’s point of view was the majority of the story. This setup made it really hard for me to connect with the characters. In the beginning I didn’t really care for Zack all that much because I wasn’t really getting his take on things. I also didn’t really care for Kenna that much in the beginning because she essentially playing Zack and she hadn’t shown any growth. In the second half they both grew more likeable but the setup of the point of views still irked me and it was still hard to connect.
Curb Appeal: I love the cover!!! It’s what initially drew my eye but really caught my attention was the blurb. I do think that the burb is a little misleading in terms of how Kenna’s character is represented but besides that, it is on point!
Ultimately: This novel was a different billionaire romance. I appreciated that Zack didn’t care for the glamourous life and just wanted to help people that needed it. Kenna could have been more accepting of her lot in life and strived to not let it bring her down instead of acting like a wilting flower that didn’t have any control of her life. All in all if you are in the mood for a sweet billionaire chef that wants to feed the city’s hungry then come check out Hooker Heels!!

I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
