A headstrong sassy mortal, Rain is a Mageia living in Tetartos, the Realm of beasts and Immortals. Her nights have been restless, filled with sensual dreams of a big blonde Guardian whose glares indicate he wants nothing to do with her. She is determined to shake off the odd feelings until she finds out her dream lover is responsible for her rescue from a demented Demi-God. In doing so, his touch ignites something rare and coveted. Something that she’s never anticipated… Something he should have told her about. Rain is set on making him explain and then feel the full force of her ire.
After a devastating betrayal resulting in the loss of a close friend a century ago, Dorian refuses to trust or engage with Immortals other than his Guardian family. His years of brutal fighting in the underground Immortal rings are over. He patrols the Realms and slakes his lust with the humans on Earth. Existing, but not living as he used to. He knows the moment he scents Rain that he has found his mate and after touching her he plans to avoid her as long as he can… Until he learns she is in danger. Raging, his beast demands that he go to her, but taking her from their enemy has repercussions he fully plans to escape at all costs.
For Dorian, finding a way out of mating Rain means he could succumb to madness and harm those that mean so much to him… but giving in to his burning urge for her means losing control in a heated mating frenzy sure to ignite them both and link them forever.
Warning: brief instances of M/F/F and M/F/M menage, a hot headed, dirty talking alpha male, voyeurism and sexually explicit scenes.

    Fluttering Thoughts:

Worldbuilding: This novel takes place primarily in the Tetartos realm of Immortals and Beasts. I love getting to know the different type of species each guardian is! With Dorian he is a Nereid aka sea nymph and his element so to speak is water so there were lots of scenes with water and water beasts which were awesome!
Characters: The main characters in this novel were Dorian and Rain. Dorian was betrayed a century ago by a female immortal and has ever since had a distrust for immortals other than his fellow family of guardians. He never thought in a million years he would come across his mate so soon after his two other brothers were mated. But unlike his brothers he wants no part of this mating especially with all of the guardians saying what a worthy female Rain is. If she is so worthy how could he possibly shackle her life to his miserable one? Rain is a Mageia aka witch who has an affinity for water. And even though she has dreamed all her life about finding her amazing mate, she refuses to go after a mate that wants nothing to do with her. Can he persuade her to accept him after his pigheadedness or will she make them both suffer and not complete the sacred ceremonies?
Plot: The novel was divided, again, between couples. We had the romance and other issues going on with Dorian and Rain. And then there were Brianne and Vane who have their peculiar situation going on that I was ridiculously interested in and I can’t wait to figure out what the hell is going on!!!! There is also the unresolved plot of the bad guys that is really intriguing and I’m left wondering what crazy stuff will happen next!
Writing: This story was told in first person points of view of Dorian and Rain. As well as some snippets of Brianne and Vane and Cyril’s sort of successor Kane.
Curb Appeal: The cover is another hit out of the park for this series! I thought the cover was just super-hot when I first saw it but now looking back it makes sense as to why there is water and it just takes on a new meaning! I really like that the cover ties back into the story!! The blurb exactly describes the characters. It also does a good job on letting the reader get the gist of the story but also leaves out some fun twists and surprises!
Ultimately: This was another awesome novel in the Guardians of the Realms series! The underlining plot of the bad guy is really piquing my interest on where it’s going to go!! I’m also super excited to know more about Brianne and Vane’s future! If you are in the mood for a super-hot and stubborn alpha male and a female that isn’t going to take his shit then come find out why Dorian is Denying Ecstasy!!!!!

I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
