Drake, the powerful dragon and leader of the Guardians, has spent his long life protecting all inhabitants of the four Realms, but fails to save the one who matters most. His mate. In the month since finding her feral, he’s been slowly losing control of his beast and soon he fears the dragon will reign free unleashing it’s fury upon the Realms.
Delia has changed. No longer a carefree young woman, she is now a nightmare in the making. After her abduction and torture she unwillingly houses two beasts and more power than she can ever contain on her own. She can never be released. Nor can she have the male who gives her any semblance of sanity in her new world, the one she craves more than her own freedom.
With unknown enemies on the horizon and yet another God awakened will they lose themselves in the madness of an impossible mating? Or will they come together in searing ecstasy, bonding them in a way that sets them both free?
Warning: Sexually explicit content (beds actually get burned down) and alpha males and females with bad language.
Worldbuilding: This novel takes place in the Earth realm as well as Tetartos. I’m super excited at the introduction the new world; Thule!! I’m hoping the next novels take place there at least some of the time.
Characters: The main characters in this novel were Drake and Delia aka Era. Drake is losing his mind. He might be the most powerful Guardian in all the realms but even his powers weren’t enough to stop the torture and change of his destined mate. She’s feral and the only thing that could save her could also in fact kill her. Unable to find a way to help her he turns to an unlikely partner: Hades. Delia hasn’t been the young woman she used to be, for a very long time now. After the torture and the force of housing two beasts she endured, more than anything she wishes for it to stop. Drake’s dragon sooths her but also drives her insane with lust. Can she find a way out of her constant destructive companions or will Drake have no choice but to put her out of her misery?
Plot: This novel was crazy intense! Not only did we have the Guardians and all of their stories but now there is this whole other world, called Thule, that has different beings and Gods and Creators!! The Guardians have to guard against these new beings and try to understand what they are after! I did liked having two romance arcs running at the same time again. Drake and Delia as well as Nastia and Sander were very entertaining! I seriously cannot wait to see if Hades gets a mate!! I’m really hoping that it happens! The characters that are featured the most in this novel go through so much and it’s so great to see everything work out pretty well in the end.
Writing: This novel was told in third person point of view of Drake, Era, Nastia, and Hades! I have to say that I love Hades and the way he thinks. Every character in this novel was written so differently but that’s what made the story so fantastic!
Curb Appeal: The cover definitely screams Drake and I love all the smoke around him! The blurb is right on the money! It gives enough information to draw you in but not enough to ruin the crazy surprises that are in store for the characters!
Ultimately: I waited so long to have Drake’s story and it did not disappoint! There was so much more than I anticipated that happened and I’m going to be sitting on pins and needles until the next novel comes out!! All in all if you are in the mood for some crazy twists and turns that feature fierce warriors and feisty females then come check out Searing Ecstasy!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
