What he needed was a miracle…
Matthew Reed has seen his share of problems. But he’s a Reed and Reeds can overcome anything. Matt is content working in his family’s tattoo parlor with his brothers surrounding him. The only thing he’s lacking is the ability to have a family of his own. Then his battle with cancer leads him to meet a woman who just might need him as much as he needs her.
She didn’t need anything…
Skylar Morgan is happy. She has a boyfriend. Sure, he doesn’t make her heart pound faster and he really doesn’t support her when she needs it. But she doesn’t need much. Does she? She’s happy to be self-sufficient and she’s happy that she doesn’t have a tremendous amount of responsibility. She’s educated, has a great job, and she has enough money for a lifetime. But what she lacks, she doesn’t even realize until she meets him. And them. The ones who change her life forever.
Worldbuilding: This novel takes place in New York! It is really situated in and around Matt’s home as well as Skylar’s.
Characters: The main characters in this story are Matt and Skylar. Matt has had a hard time these past few years due to his battle with cancer. But now with a new lease on life, he is going to do everything he can to live it to the fullest. When his past with cancer leads him on a new path to love, he decides to pursue it with everything he’s got. But will he get past her walls and inner insecurities or will the fight prove to be too much, even for him? Skylar has everything she could possibly want; a boyfriend, a great job, and independence. She’s happy right? But Skylar’s life is about to be turned upside down not only by Matt but by a little secret, that’s not so secret, of her father’s. Can Skylar take her new life in stride or will she throw in the towel before she really gives everything a chance?
Plot: This story was a good mix of happy and sad moments! It was a sad moment that brought everyone together but in the end it was so great when everything came together! There was the obvious romance arc between Matt and Skylar but each character had a difficult and life affirming arc of their own. Matt’s arc was facing his past and his new life. Skylar’s arc was about learning responsibility and forgiving people who have wronged her when she was younger.
Writing: This novel was told in first person points of view of both Matt and Skylar. It is also the fourth novel in the Reed Brother’s series but can be read as a standalone. However to really understand Matt’s character and his journey I would recommend reading the series from the beginning.
Curb Appeal: I absolutely love this cover! I could see completely see Matt and Skylar as the models. The blurb gives a good amount information about the characters but definitely leaves some big surprises for the readers!
Ultimately: This was a great installment in the Reed Brothers series!!! I was so happy to read Matt’s happily ever after and the intense journey it took to get there! All in all if you are in the mood for a great romance that is as heart wrenching as it is heartwarming then come find out Matt’s Maybe Miracle!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
