Smoke and Fire: Part 2 (Dark Kings #9)
There had always been something about being in his arms that made her feel as if she could tackle
anything…
Kinsey wanted to touch him. There had always been something about being in Ryder’s arms that made her feel as if she could tackle anything and the world wouldn’t dare get in her way. But that was before she knew what he was really made of. Before the man of her dreams shifted into the dragon he was never supposed to reveal.

Fluttering Thoughts:
Worldbuilding: The rich world of the Dark Kings series is delicious.
Characters: I loved how strong Kinsey tried to be, despite having her heart broken. She’s one tough chick, I’ll tell you that, for all her vulnerabilities, she managed to keep up with these intimidating guys pretty well!
Ryder might be acting tough, but the guy is pretty much a big hug-able teddy-bear when it comes to Kinsey. It was so romantic, the way he yearned for her presence. How he couldn’t stay away now that she was under his nose. Also, yey for them working together to clear Kinsey’s name.
Plot: On the romance front, I felt both of them were realizing what the other meant to them, and what effects their separation had. The Ulrik plot only thickens, of course – it always does! – and I’m dying to see what happens with Balladyn and the Dark, and the Reapers have to start acting soon, and… okay, I’m very excited about the story, lol, obviously!
Writing: Third person, past tense narrative, his/her POV.
Curb Appeal: Cool cover, hooking blurb – autobuy author name 😀
As a side note, not that I’m obsessed or anything, but I just feel it in my bones that we’re close to finding out who Rhi’s ex is!! I have a suspect, lol, but… we shall see. On to part 3!
