Don’t love your enemy. Declare war on him.
Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. Since then she’s lost eighty-five pounds, gotten four streaks of purple in her hair, and moved to Buttcrack-of-Nowhere, Ohio, to help her mom escape a bad relationship.
All the girls in her new school want one thing—Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter’s never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he’s never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.
Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.
The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.
The game board: East Summit High.
The reward: Something neither of them expected.
Previously published as Lovely Vicious, this fully revised and updated edition is full of romance, intrigue, and laugh-out-loud moments.
Reading this book was like meeting an old friend again and I loved every second of it! I did read the original novel that came out a couple of years ago and I was dying to get my hands on this newly revamped version. This novel fit like an old glove that you find new reasons to love all over again! I honestly didn’t think this version was that much different from its predecessor but I did feel like I got a deeper feeling for the main characters this time around!
Isis Blake is insane. Not really the clinically-lock-her-in-a-padded-room- and-giver-her-a-thorazine-drip-sort-of-way but definitely close! But there is more to her than meets the eye. She’s raw and she’s a fighter. Even though her life has been threaded through with abuse and depression, she does her best to rise above it all and become stronger. Nothing is going to get in the way of her newly reinvented self, maybe except for the hottest and coldest boy in school. Everything about him infuriates her but even more the mystery surrounding him and his past intrigues her. Can Jack get past her impenetrable wall of sarcasm and wit or will something happen to make her want to forget that he ever existed in the first place?
Jack Hunter is cold, unfeeling, and his school’s own Ice Prince. Everyone keeps their distance and are never able to get to know the real him. He never gets flustered and is never affected by anyone until the new girl shows up. And in two point five seconds of meeting her, he walks away bewildered, ruffled, and injured. Every time they interact more and more of his cool and contain mask slips and she wiggles her way underneath his skin. Can he protect his past and who he holds dear or will Isis break open his heart and all of his secrets?
This novel is told in first person points of view of Jack and Isis although Isis tells the majority of the story. I loved the cover, it’s dark and moody just like Isis and Jack! The blurb is absolutely fantastic! It pulls you in and gives you just a taste of what is to come!! This novel ends in a cliffhanger that is somewhat devastating if you haven’t read this series before!! So I’m warning everyone that it’s pretty crazy!!
Ultimately this novel is an absolute laugh out loud good time! It’s an over the top love hate romance that is one of the best new adult novels I’ve ever read. I can’t wait to read the next couple books in this series and I hope the author revamped them just like she did this one!! All in all, if you are in the mood for an enemies to not-even-close-to-lovers story then come check out Love Me Never!!!!
