A feisty small-town girl and the Hollywood star who broke her heart
An all-consuming love threatened by fame
One last chance at FOREVER
Keri Ann Butler’s life changed on the night she met movie star, Jack Eversea. She thought she knew a Jack that was very different from the man adored by fans the world over. In the wake of his betrayal and abandonment, Keri Ann has had to pick up and move forward with the life she was supposed to live and has put off far too long.
Suddenly Jack is back, and his explanations for why he left seem more and more plausible, and his declarations more seductive. But being Jack’s latest tabloid accessory isn’t on Keri Ann’s career agenda, no matter how much she is attracted to him. And how can she can ever trust him again?
Jack knows he let the only ‘real’ thing that ever happened to him slip through his fingers. And his hands have been tied to try and stop it. Until Now.
Jack is now fighting to save his relationship with Keri Ann, even as his crazy life threatens to tear them apart. Again. The question is, can he convince her she can have it all? And have him? Forever?
Worldbuilding: This story takes place in Butler Cove Island, South Carolina! This time around the story didn’t touch that much on setting but the times that it did, I pictured a very pretty sight!
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Keri Ann Butler and Jack Eversea. After their whirlwind romance and heart wrenching split, Keri Ann has picked up her life and seemingly moved on. But fate has other plans in store. Jack is back and is more gorgeously devastating than ever and as much as she tries to resist him, his explanations and puppy dog eyes grow harder and harder to ignore. But even as they embark on rekindling their relationship, jealous old rivals try their best to destroy any happiness Jack and Keri Ann try to create. Can Jack shelter Keri Ann from the bomb that is about to turn her whole life upside down? Or will the news and subsequently his celebrity life be too much for Keri Ann to handle?
Plot: This story starts off about seven months after the first one ended. It is also more about Keri Ann and Jack trying to make a relationship to work versus them embarking on something new. This novel is also drama heavy, whereas the first one had more tension, like waiting for the other shoe to drop, or this is too good to be true, so to speak.
Writing: This novel is told in first person point of view of Jack and Keri Ann, as well as past/present point of view. This is book two of the Butler Cover series and does not end in a cliffhanger.
Curb Appeal: I loved this cover! At first I wasn’t sure how it was going to relate back to the novel but after reading their story it makes perfect sense and there couldn’t have been a better cover picked! The blurb gives good recap of what happened in the first novel and what you mind find in this novel.
Ultimately: I liked this second chance romance! I’m glad that the author decided to continue their story and give them a happily ever after! This series does continue and the next novel features Keri Ann’s best friend Jazz!! All in all, if you are in the mood for hero who always knew he was coming back for his girl and a heroine who thinks with her head as well as her heart then come check out Forever, Jack!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
