“Wrong Has Never Been So Right”
It’s all about the next dollar.
It started out as a job, but has morphed into an addiction.
Money flows and life is good.
Women respond to my mere presence, begging for one more taste.
I was the King, on top of the world.
It was all a game and I expected nothing less than being crowned the champion.
Then she waltzed into the club.
And everything became dirty.
Worldbuilding: This story takes place in a little seaside town of Preston, mostly around Zane’s work and house.
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Ava Livingston and Zane Rivers. Zane has had a rough go of things. But watching his beloved grandfather die of cancer takes the cake. And he will be damned if he doesn’t try his hardest to keep their ranch and have his grandfather’s last months be in peace. But doing the work he is doing is starting to take a toll and making him feel dirty. Especially when he meets a girl who not only can he not get out of his mind, but a girl who makes him want more from life. Even though Zane is rough on the outside and acts like he doesn’t give a shit about anything, he does have a huge heart and protects the ones he loves. And after she becomes his, he is willing to do any and everything to make sure she is taken care of. When Ava came to this seaside town she didn’t expect to find love, only just escape her overbearing parents for the summer. But then she meets a man who turns her whole world right side up! Their instantaneous attraction is put to the test when hardships from both sides, come to the forefront. Can they overcome his less than reputable past and her overbearing and rude relatives? Or will a new threat come out of the shadows and drive them apart before they even have a chance to get started?
Plot: This story was mostly about two broken souls finding love. Although timing of the main characters falling in love and the subsequent issues that followed, were all over the place. The story would start off a couple of days’ span then jump to weeks, then back to days and towards the end jumped three months. It was slightly confusing keeping track of all the different points in time.
Writing: This novel is told in first person points of view of Ava and Zane. This is a standalone novel that ends in a HEA, but it is followed up by the book called Filthy, which is about Ava and Zane’s best friends.
Curb Appeal: I love the cover! I wish the heroine was on the cover as well but it is a good picture to imagine the hero as! The blurb is so tiny and barely gives the reader anything! But I do think that is the main reason it hooked me and helped me take a chance on this book!
Ultimately: This was a great new contemporary romance novel that I really hope develops into a series! This premise reminded me a whole lot of Magic Mike but honestly this novel is like a million times better than that movie! All in all, if you are in the mood for an alpha male who is about to give up everything for his girl, and a heroine who wants nothing more than to help her man then come check out Dirty!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
