They’d won the battle and I held up the white flag of defeat…
But the war wasn’t OVER.
I suffered the aching loss of what they had stolen from me.
OVER and OVER again, my heart broke.
The white Queen and the black King had taken OVER the game
and ruled for what seemed like eternity.
Until one day, eternity was finally OVER.
I was the dark knight who would rise again and conquer.
I was the man who would win OVER the most important piece on the board.
A slayer. A protector. A father.
A new king with the blackest of hearts.
And head OVER heels in love with…
The little princess who owned my twisted soul.
Sometimes the villains don’t just want their happy ending…
They demand it.
This isn’t OVER, baby.
This will never be OVER.
Warning: This Isn’t Over, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.
Worldbuilding: This story originally takes place in California and jumps to Arizona.
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Gabriel Sharpe and Hannah McPherson. Gabriel has been watching from afar for years. He knows better than anyone how important it is to have a loving parent to watch over a child so he is biding his time until he can make his move. And make his move he does in the most fierce and violent way imaginable. But instead of being horrified or afraid Hannah is completely captivated. Gabriel has met his match in Hannah and then some. Hannah completes him in a way that Baylee never could. But with true love comes a crazy that Gabriel can hardly comprehend let alone tame. Can he maintain Hannah’s insanity before she hurts herself or even him? Or will outside forces destroy their love affair before they can even get started?
Plot: This was a completely different story than I thought it would be! Instead of a story about escaping Gabe, it was mainly about Hannah trying to find a way to stay with him.
Writing: This novel is told in first person point of view of Gabriel and Hannah. It is the third novel in the War & Peace series and cannot be read as a standalone or out of order.
Curb Appeal: I love these covers! They are definitely unique and I really enjoyed finally getting a face to put to the name! The blurb gives nothing away! The story itself was a complete surprise and I actually appreciated it in this instance.
Ultimately: I actually really liked this novel! It wasn’t as emotionally draining as the first two novels in the series but ended up taking you on one hell of a crazy ride. I loved that Hannah was just completely insane, even more so than Gabriel. All in all, if you in the mood from a crazily dark romance with a twisted hero and an even more twisted heroine then come find out why This Isn’t Over, Baby!!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
