It was a bad idea from the beginning.
He was my brother’s best friend and the definition of unavailable.
    But I didn’t care.
I had loved him for as long as I could remember.
He was worth the risk. He was worth everything
But then he broke my heart as easily as I fell for him. He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn’t there to catch me.
    So I ran.
Four years later, I never expected to see him again.
He was still my brother’s best friend, and he was more unavailable than ever.
He looked every bit the bad boy I knew he was, covered in tattoos and a crooked smile.
Guarding my heart from him was top priority because Parker James was where good girls go to die.
Unfortunately for him, I wasn’t a good girl anymore.

    Fluttering Thoughts:

Worldbuilding: This story takes place in Tennessee, mostly in and around Parker’s tattoo shop.
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Olivia Mae Conner aka Liv and Parker James. Liv is not the same girl she used to be. She’s harder and harsher and refuses to let love burn her twice. But fate has other plans for her, when her brother’s best friend, Parker, finds his way into her strip joint. Seeing him again is like a kick to the chest and if his shock is anything to go by, he feels the same way too. Getting dragged back to her home town was not part of the plan but her brother and his best friend won’t take no for an answer. Seeing Parker not only brings back memories but all the feelings she ever had for him. Can she ignore what her heart is telling her and move on? Or will their connection be too hard to deny, bringing not only her downfall but his as well?
Plot: This is a second chance romance between Liv and Parker. There is cheating involved so if that is a hard limit for some readers then you might want to skip this one.
Writing: This novel is written in first person points of view of Liv and Parker as well as past and present points of view. I liked that we got to see how they initially got together and the back story of why it didn’t work out but I found myself more invested in the present tense storyline than the past tense one.
Curb Appeal: I love this cover! It’s bold and a little dark and that’s what makes it stand out! The blurb definitely hooks you and makes you think that this is going to have a badass storyline but in my opinion it kind of falls flat.
Ultimately: I like this story! My only wish was that it delivered on bad girl promise. I expected it to be just a tad bit darker or naughtier or that Liv came across as a badass chick. And in the beginning, it was really promising but then Liv tapered off into her regular non-badass self. The story itself was still good but I think it would’ve been even better if Liv owned her badassness and made parker eat out of the palm of her hand! All in all, if you are in the mood for a second chance romance that is filled with angst, tough decisions, and healing hearts then come check out Where Good Girls Go to Die!!!
