When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.
Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.
Boy, was I wrong.
Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.
Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.
But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.
Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.
Worldbuilding: This story takes place in Upstate New York in and around Tucker’s house.
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Tucker Jameson and Emma Marks. Emma is in trouble. She’s getting kicked out of her apartment and needs a place quick, especially if she wants to graduate nursing school on time. And who comes to the rescue? Her old friend Tucker who just so happens to be her best friend’s ex. As they get to know one another again, memories and feelings start rushing back and they start having the time of their lives. The only issue is the more time they spend together the more they both want each other. Can Tucker overcome his devastating heartache of the past so that he might have beautiful future with the girl who makes his life light up? Or will his sorrow consume him and push away everyone he holds dear?
Plot: This is a romance between Tucker and Emma. It is a hilarious story that is actually pretty low on the drama.
Writing: This novel is written in first person points of view of Tucker and Emma. It is a standalone novel that ends in a HEA.
Curb Appeal: This cover is definite eye candy and I love it! The blurb gives a great rundown on what the situation is for the characters but doesn’t let on how funny this story is!
Ultimately: This was less drama filled than I expected especially because of the title and how hyped and worried the heroine was about being with her best friend’s ex. But I loved Emma and Tucker’s renewal of friendship in the beginning and how it progressed into more! All in all, if you are in the mood for a romance that should have been from the start then come check out My Best Friend’s Ex!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
