He doesn’t need his eyes to uncover her true beauty.
Cedric, Viscount Sheridan, is cursed. Once the ton’s golden boy, the loss of his sight has left him a reclusive shell of a man. His days of womanizing, horse racing and pistol shooting lost forever.
Offered the chance to recapture a small part of his old life, he can’t refuse-even if it means accepting the shocking proposal of the infamous ice maiden, Anne Chessley.
Still reeling from her father’s death, Anne’s deepest wish is to avoid the hordes of fortune hunters who will soon be beating down her door. Proposing marriage to Cedric is an act of desperation, his unexpected acceptance a strange and wonderful dream.
His only stipulation: she must respond passionately and wantonly in his bed. Her agreement barely crosses her lips before he begins a sensual assault on the icy walls bitter secrets have built around her heart.
Yet even as they catch a glimpse of true happiness, betrayal is poised to sweep them away on opposing tides of danger.
Warning: Contains an outwardly aloof heroine with a secretly tender heart, a once-notorious rake who isn’t quite as rusty at seduction as he feared, and a band of rogues who join together to make sure happily-ever-afters do come true.
Worldbuilding: This story takes place first in London and then at the Sheridan estate on the outskirts of Brighton.
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Viscount Cedric Sheridan and Anne Chessley. Anne has suffered a terrible loss and all she wants is some peace and quiet. The only way to achieve her solace is to propose to the one man who she knows would treat her with respect and compassion: Cedric Sheridan. But the only way Cedric will accept her hand, is if she drops her whole ice maiden façade and show him the fire that burns within. And when Anne gives into him, Cedric is able to give into her, and his blindness that was holding him back is all but an afterthought. But sinister forces are at work to bring down not only Cedric but Anne as well. Can they fight for their once in a lifetime happily ever after? Or will the villains get their way and dispose of the happy couple once and for all?
Plot: The forefront storyline in this tale is the romance between Cedric and Anne. There is an underlying storyline, which spans all of the novels, of the villain, Hugo Waverly, and what he has planned for the Rogues.
Writing: This novel is written in third person points of view of Cedric, Anne, and a few other side characters that were also thrown in. It is the third novel in the League of Rogues series and cannot be read as a standalone.
Curb Appeal: I love this cover! It has both of the main characters on it and follows the same theme as the other novels in this series. The blurb gives great background on the characters and what is going on but leaves out all the points of danger they end up facing.
Ultimately: I was in the mood for a historical romance and this story completely hit the spot and reminded me of how much I love these characters and this series!!! These novels keep getting better and better and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!! All in all, if you want historical romance with a wicked silver-tongued hero and a heroine who is brave and ready to give her all then come check out Her Wicked Proposal!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
