Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.
Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.
A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pu$$y or a combination of all three.
King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.
Warning: This book contains graphic violence, consensual and nonconsensual sex, drug use, abuse, and other taboo subjects and adult subject matter. Although originally slated to be a standalone, KING is now a two part series.
Worldbuilding: This story takes place in Logan’s Beach, a little town on the gulf coast of Florida.
Characters: The main characters in this story are Brantley King and Doe. Doe didn’t ask to be thrust into this life but sometimes bad things happen to good people. Having no memories or any idea of who you are can be a kick in the head but can it be a blessing in disguise? Meeting King is one of the most terrifying and exhilarating experiences Doe has ever had. But after a few ups and downs he becomes her anchor and gives her a place to call home. Unfortunately, Doe becomes a means to an end and King takes both of their futures into his hands. Can Doe find out who she really is all while keeping King in her life? Or will one have to give so the other can come to light?
Plot: This story is about Doe trying to survive in a dog eat dog world all the while having no idea who she is. This is also a romance between King and Doe.
Writing: This novel is written in first person points of view of King and Doe. It is the first novel in the King series and continues King and Doe’s story in the second novel, Tyrant, whereas the other novels are about different couples.
Curb Appeal: The cover completely embodies King and it looks amazing! The blurb is short and sweet and does a great job you pulling you in!
Ultimately: This was a pretty intense story! I really liked how two broken people were able to find each other and make the best of their situation! The cliffhanger was absolutely killer so I am warning you to be ready to one click the next novel!! All in all, if you are in the mood for a growly alpha male who is having trouble following his heart and a heroine who is ready to take control of her life, then come check out King!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
