Reyes Walter is the man who engineers everyone’s happiness, and he’s never wanted anything else. He’s got a lucrative job as sovereign of the kink world and he delights in playing puppet master for everyone under his purview…which is everyone.
Allie Hart has got his hands full trying to find a job, and being there for his sister and her kids. Loyal to the bone, he’s not looking for anything to get in the way of his obligations.
When a chance encounter throws Allie into the wide swath of Rey’s concern, Rey’s resolved to play the hero as usual, and Allie’s determined to tell him where to stick it. The last thing Allie needs is some rich know-it-all treating him like a damsel in distress.
The attraction between them leads to more than a back alley tryst, but not anywhere close to for-keeps. Any lovers Rey’s had have been polished up and paired off with someone more suitable. After all, there’s always someone in need and Rey vowed a long time ago not to let anything or anyone come between him and his responsibilities. But Allie Hart may be the one gift he’s tempted to keep for himself.
Worldbuilding: This story takes place in San Francisco, California, in and around Reyes house.
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Reyes Walter and Allie Hart. Reyes has always taken care of everyone else. Finding their perfect match and finding out their needs is what he lives for. But is being the grand puppet master still enough? When a chance encounter puts Allie Hart in Reyes’s path, his life is turned inside out. Rey can’t help but to want to take care of Allie as well as help him get his life back on track, and as far as Allie is concerned Rey can mind his own damn business. But as they see more and more of each other, Allie and Rey start to find out how much they want and need one another. Will Allie be enough of a temptation for Rey to take a chance on a happily ever after? Or will Allie be like all of Rey’s other past loves, and be a match for someone else?
Plot: This is mainly a BDSM romance between Reyes and Allie.
Writing: This novel is written in first person point of view of Reyes. It is the last novel in The Compass series.
Curb Appeal: This cover is absolutely perfect for this story!!! I love it so much and it completely embodies Reyes! The blurb gives great background on the characters and gives enough information to intrigue the reader!!
Ultimately: I think the ending to this series was bittersweet! I loved Reyes and Allie and they were just perfect for each other! I’m pretty sad that this series had to end but I’m really pleased with the finale and seeing all the characters from the previous novels one last time! All in all, if you have waited for Rey’s story from the very first novel or you have never read this series before please come on down and pick up The Cartographer, I promise you won’t regret it!!!!
