In a Flutter: Strength in love and family!
Twenty-seven-year-old Farrow Keene lives by his actions, and his actions say he’s the best at whatever he does. As a 24/7 bodyguard and the new boyfriend to Maximoff Hale, protecting the headstrong, alpha billionaire has never been more complicated. And one rule can’t be bent:
Keep your relationship secret from the public.
Farrow is confident he’s the best man for the job. But a twist in Maximoff’s fast-paced life sticks them with the rest of Security Force Omega and their clients.
On the road.
In a sleeper tour bus.
For four rocky months.
Sexual frustrations, check. Road trip drama, check. Awkward bonding, check.
But Farrow couldn’t have accounted for a high-risk threat (identity: unknown) that targets Maximoff before the ignition even turns. And it hits Farrow — someone has it out for the guy he loves.
Every day, Maximoff & Farrow’s feelings grow stronger, and together, they’ll either sink or swim.
The Like Us series is a true series, one continuous timeline, that follows a family of wealthy celebrities and the people that protect them. You must read Damaged Like Us, Book 1, before reading Lovers Like Us.
Worldbuilding: This novel takes place all over the United States but what steals the show is their sleeper tour bus!!!
Characters: The main characters in this novel are Farrow Keene and Maximoff Hale. When the whole world is against Maximoff and his best friend/cousin Jane, he will do any and everything to keep their bond alive, even if it means going on a crazy grand tour of the United States with a couple of their family members. When the odds are stacked against Maximoff he can always count on Farrow to even them but when there is a threat to Maximoff’s safety, Farrow does everything in his power to keep the man he loves safe. But the tour is getting out of hand, the media is worse, and this threat seems to be growing every day. Can Farrow find out who this threat is and what they want? Or will this great American tour spell not only doom for families and friendships but also doom for Maximoff’s life?
Plot: This is a feel-good story intertwined with suspense that ends with family coming together!
Writing: This novel is written in first person points of view of Farrow and Maximoff. It is the second story in the Like Us series and starts off where the first novel ended, it cannot be read as a standalone.
Curb Appeal: These covers are gorgeous and this one is no exception! The blurb gives a tiny scrap of information but enough for the reader to want more!
Ultimately: This was an amazing follow up to Damaged Like Us!!! The heartbreak is real but so is the love that all the characters have for one another. I loved finding out most of the answers to the questions I had but I was disappointed some issues weren’t resolved. Thank God there is another novel in the making for this series and I cannot wait to read more of Farrow and Maximoff!! All in all, if you are in the mood for more of two heroes who would do anything to protect each other then come check out Lovers Like Us!!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself! Reading is huge passion of mine. And I'm glad that books not only expand my world view but that they bring the wonderful people who created them into my life. You can always find me with a book and an eclectic mix of music on. I am a HEA junkie extraordinaire! I am a Beta reader, who loves helping authors bring their characters to life. As well as an avid romance reader (every and anything ;D) turned aspiring author.
