…and faery dust
Ryland James is a wealthy philanthropist. He’s also a werewolf, and the son of the Faery king. Indigo DuCharme seems like a typical socialite, but as she moves deeper into Ry’s world, something in her awakens—something she never could have imagined. She’ll need to accept her true nature if they’re going to have a chance at love, and if they’re going to protect human children from the fae.
Worldbuilding: The Paris setting was a nice touch, and the paranormal elements of werewolves, vampires, fae, and hybrids was cool.
Characters: While Ry and Indi were nice concepts, I didn’t get emotionally engaged at all. In fact, I got detached pretty fast – particularly from Indi. Ry could have gotten to me, but in this setting and story it just didn’t happen.
I liked Kristine ans the nod to diversity.
Plot: Billionaire romance with a paranormal twist – the idea is cool, but unfortunately it’s not one of my fav tropes and character would have sold it to me. The changeling arc had a lot of potential but didn’t get me excited up until I gave up reading.
Writing: Third person, past tense narrative, his/her POV. I’m not of a fan of the style, because it feels a bit too narrative.
Curb Appeal: Fabulous cover, hooking blurb – on presentation plus author name (I’ve read 3 other novels by Michele Hauf and really enjoyed them), it’s impulsive buy material for my PNR moods.
I DNF-ed at 59% into the read, because I kept remembering how much fun I had with the first 3 novels I read by the same author, but this time it just didn’t work for me. If you’re into princess-like chicks and billionaire badass guys with a paranormal twist, you’ll surely enjoy The Billionaire Werewolf’s Princess more than I did.
