Pregnant, possessed, and in love with a man I don’t dare to trust-those are the consequences of the risks I took to save my life. But Faerie, the land of blood and magic, is filled with bitter ironies, and the bargains I made now threaten me and my unborn child.
The darkly sensual fae noble Rogue still tempts me to danger and desire. As we await the birth of our child, I’ve been forced to question whether our offspring is part of a bargain Rogue once made to save himself. He can’t tell me the truth due to a spell the vicious Queen Titania has him under. Would he betray our family against his will? Could I ever forgive him if he does?
Rogue insists on an eternal commitment from me, even as Titania’s forces close in on us. I don’t know if Rogue and I can withstand her onslaught, or that of the beast within me. But I will not stop looking for answers-even if it brings the walls of Faerie crashing down.

Before we get down to it (which sounds totally dirty, huh? 😀 ), lemme just give you a quick account of my reading experience at its very beginning.
So I was scrolling through the Carina Press regular front matter, you know, the letter, the stuff *scroll, scroll*, Acknowledgements, *scroll slower, story coming up*, and then I see a mention of me & my blog! Right there, in the freaking Acknowledgements of a freaking awesomesauce story by an author I SO l o v e!! I was screaming my head off, freaking out all over the place, squealing and… actually, it was a perfect circle kind of thing, because that’s how the reading experience ended too 😀
    Speaking of which…

    Fluttering Thoughts:

Worldbuilding: The Covenant of Thorns series comes with a kickass fantasy world, fey, dragons, shifters, magic, all the good stuff. Plus a sort of scientific view, somewhat Darwinian, on the evolution of fey – yes, I am geeky enough to love that :p -, a scientific approach to the madness, if you will. It’s a beautiful mix of insanity, magic and perfect sense, and a joy to lose yourself in.
Characters: Gwynn is one of my favorite MCs ever, there’s something about the mix of scientific curiosity, bravery, vulnerability, intense sensuality, endless charm and a killer sense of humor. She evolved so awesomely throughout the series, became even stronger, overcame some fears I totally have myself, and in the end saved the day. Much, much love.
I mean, hell, I’d fall for her myself, Rogue had no chance at all, since the very beginning 😀 And for that matter, neither did Gwynn herself xDDD Because…
Rogue. Sigh. Purrrrrfection. Just purrrfection, the brooding, intense, powerful, charismatic, smexy…*sigh*… awesomesauce. There was this ambiguity about him, a good guy/bad guy sort of vibe, and it kept me guessing till almost the very of Rogue’s Paradise, with the whole Titania thing. But I knew it in my heart, with Gwynn’s help, he’d do the right thing in the end. And he did 😀 Not telling you more than that, read this baby!
I was thrilled with the happy ending, you should enjoy it for yourselves too xD
Plot: There’s a lot going on in the story, great magic action, love, a whole world saved – in short, awesome story, and a fab conclusion to the series. (At least I’m pretty sure it is the conclusion…sadly, because me needs more Rogue *sniffle sniffle*)
Writing: First person, past tense narrative, Gwynn’s POV, kickass writing (as always), with some of that beautiful, fantasy-world tone, but not too much.
Curb Appeal: Auto-buy author name for me, auto-buy series, just generally, auto-buy. Nonetheless, gorgeous cover, hooking blurb, much love.

All in all, this was another awesome work by Jeffe Kennedy, an author I do wholeheartedly love, and if possible, I love her work all the more when there’s some fantasy involved. Don’t get me wrong, her contemporary and paranormal are just about as fab, but I feel it’s fantasy where she shines the most for me. Beautiful writing, spectacular imagery without ever overdoing, suggestive and vivid worldbuilding, swoon-worthy romance, delicious intensity… somebody stop me already.
Stop reading this review, you’re at the end of it anyway, haha, and just go read this series. You will thank me later.
(Also, if you’re into ridiculously hot stuff, take a look at her Tumblr [NSFW, 18+]. You’ll never be the same again xDDD I think all the awesomeness of her writing springs eternal from her absolutely purrfect taste and sense of beauty, because…that Tumblr is something to write dirty love songs to xD)
