Fluttering Thoughts:

Worldbuilding: The seconds Faraday Files, after The Deathsniffer’s Assistant, comes with a world equally as delicious – it’s the same Darrington City, with its categorizations and splendid tensions of a revolutionary nature growing.
Characters: I liked Chris even more in The Timeseer’s Gambit, but I won’t lie – my fav is still Olivia. I can’t help it, I always fall for the Sherlock of the Sherlock/Watson duo. But I felt Chris was a more nuanced character in this novel, and the fact that he’s coming to realize things about himself – his sexuality, his true skills – even if he doesn’t get to accept and embrace them yet, made him all the more lovable. It’s a time of growing, of getting to know who he is, and I’m honored to be by Chris’s side for the process xD
Plot: The mystery was terribly fun, and the way it was solved even more so. The romantic elements are very interesting, a bit of a mystery on their own. The story was tense, with enough action but without becoming too agitated, and the various elements woven into one were both fun and intriguing.
Writing: Third person, past tense, Chris’s POV, and still loved the style hardcore.
Curb Appeal: Cool cover, hooking blurb – and auto-buy author name for me xDD

I truly recommend the Faraday Files series, a Bomy Award of Excellence series so far, to all lovers of Sherlock-ian mysteries, to fans of fantasy worlds and Edwardian settings with a twist of magic. There are so many delicious elements to this series, it’s really a must-read imo. Get it, read it, love it, and thank me for recommending it, lol!
